Top Waterfalls Near Pune
1. Kune Falls (Khandala)
One of the highest waterfalls in Maharashtra at 200m. Located near Khandala, easily accessible by road. Best visited in August-September.
2. Lingmala Falls (Mahabaleshwar)
A two-tiered waterfall with a viewing deck. The upper fall is 500 feet high. Located 6 km from Mahabaleshwar town.
3. Thoseghar Falls (Satara)
A series of waterfalls near Thoseghar village. The main fall drops 500 metres making it one of Maharashtra's highest. 25 km from Satara.
4. Vajrai Falls (Satara)
Among the highest waterfalls in India at 853 metres. Located in Sajjangad forest area. Seasonal, best in July-September.
5. Tamhini Ghats Waterfalls
The Tamhini route from Pune to Mulshi has dozens of unnamed falls that cascade across the road in monsoon. A favourite drive in the rains.
6. Bhivpuri Waterfall (Karjat)
An easy trek from Bhivpuri Road station. Local guide recommended. Popular with Mumbai college groups.
7. Randha Falls (Bhandardara)
Where the Pravara river drops dramatically into the valley. Combined with Bhandardara dam and Arthur Lake makes a great weekend trip.
8. Umbrella Falls (Igatpuri)
Named for its umbrella-like spread. Near Ghoti on the Pune-Nashik highway. Accessible during monsoon only.

9. Pandavkada Falls (Kharghar)
Right within Navi Mumbai! A 107m waterfall in Kharghar Hills. Easily accessible, perfect for a quick monsoon outing.
10. Zenith Falls (Bhivpuri)
Also called Kondana Falls area. Near Bhivpuri, reached after a short forest trek. Beautiful cascade in a natural bowl.
11. Kalu Waterfall (Murbad)
Hidden gem 80 km from Mumbai. Requires a short forest walk. Crystal clear water, low crowd. Best in August.
12. Devkund Waterfall (Bhira)
A 2km trek from Bhira village. Emerald green pool at the base. One of Maharashtra's most photogenic falls.
13. Malshej Ghat Falls
Multiple waterfalls along the Malshej Ghat highway. Flamingos also visit the plateau area. Best July-September.
14. Palasdari Waterfall (Karjat)
3km trek from Palasdari station. Less crowded than Bhivpuri. Perfect half-day outing from Mumbai.

15. Dudhsagar Falls (Goa-Maharashtra border)
The most famous waterfall — 310m of milky white water thundering into a pool. Accessible by jeep from Kulem or via Sonaulim trek. Best July-September.
16. Tamdi Surla (near Goa border)
Actually in Goa but frequented by Maharashtra travellers. Dense forest setting, 12th century temple nearby.
17. Kataldhar Falls (Matheran)
A seasonal waterfall near Matheran hill station. Combine with a Matheran trip in monsoon.

18. Hadshi Falls (Hadshi)
40 km from Pune via Paud Road. A series of small falls in lush greenery. Low crowd, scenic picnic spot.
19. Chinchoti Falls (Vasai)
60 km from Mumbai. A group of falls in Tungareshwar forest. November to February is surprisingly good too.
20. Koraigad Waterfall
Near Koraigad fort base. Combine the fort trek with this waterfall stop. 2 hours from Pune.

21. Akloli Waterfall (Igatpuri)
Near Igatpuri railway station. Popular with Nashik day-trippers. Multiple tiers.
22. Darana Falls (Nashik)
Near Gangapur dam. A lesser-known cascade 15 km from Nashik city.
