Kashid Beach Guide: The White Sand Beach Near Mumbai
Kashid is often called Maharashtra's answer to Goa — a long stretch of white sand backed by casuarina trees, with clear water and far fewer crowds than Alibaug. Located on the Konkan coast about 145 km from Mumbai, it's a genuine beach escape.
Why Kashid
- White sand: One of the few truly white-sand beaches in Maharashtra
- Casuarina shade: Natural tree canopy along the beach edge
- Relatively uncrowded: Less commercial than Alibaug
- Nearby forts: Murud-Janjira sea fort is just 35 km south
- Clean water: Good visibility for snorkelling near the rocks
